Shutting off SoC

I have an ATLAS SoC board, and I wanted to make certain I am using the correct shut off procedure

  1. Eject the device if connected as a remote drive (connector J2)
  2. poweroff in terminal (Putty in my case)
  3. Disconnect power.

Is this the best method?
